Narendra Modi

The viral image showing Indian Prime Minister Modi presenting a portrait of himself to Chinese President Xi Jinping is not from the 2026 BRICS Summit. It is an old photograph dating back to 2019.

Verified Misinformation (Thai PBS Verify): The image circulating online, which claims to show Narendra Modi gifting his portrait to Xi Jinping during the 2026 BRICS meetings, is misleading. The photograph dates back to the 2019 informal summit in Mamallapuram, India. Additionally, historical records show that the souvenir was presented to Modi by Xi Jinping, contradicting the online narrative.
